Study Trip to Israel

January 3-15, 2026

From January 3–15, 2026, Central Seminary hosted a 13-day study tour of Israel led by Dr. Doug Bookman, alongside Central Seminary President Dr. Matt Morrell and Provost Dr. Brett Williams.

Trip Information

Our days were full from morning to evening with instruction and navigating new terrain, but rewarding in every way. We trekked about 5-6 miles each day, and enjoyed times of refreshing fellowship to close the day and reflect on the beauty and wonder of the places we’d travelled. Having Dr. Bookman’s biblical teaching gave us context for every mile along the way, from the bus rides to traversing new digs and sites.

Dr. Doug Bookman

Our 2026 Study Trip to Israel was led by Central graduate and adjunct professor, Dr. Doug Bookman, who has been leading educational tours through Israel for over 20 years.

Dr. Bookman has focused much of his teaching career on a renewed emphasis on the life of Christ and the nation of Israel.  In 1987, Dr. Bookman joined the Bible Department faculty of The Master’s College. While there, he conceived, designed, and implemented the IBEX program, a semester-abroad program in Israel.  In 1998, Dr. Bookman joined the Friends of Israel as a national representative. Throughout the years, he has taught at various colleges and seminaries and has served as pastor and interim pastor at local churches.  He is now on staff at Shepherds Theological Seminary and teaches classes on the New Testament and the Life of Christ. Dr. Bookman will also be teaching Life of Christ for the Spring Modular at Central, March 23-27, 2026.
