Ellis and Jillian Narcisse

 Missionaries, New Life Baptist Church
Icla, Bolivia

Ellis and Jillian are sent out by First Baptist Church of Kiel, WI, to serve in Icla, Bolivia. They are planting Iglesia Bautista Mosoj Kawsay (New Life Baptist Church) in a small, rural, Quechua village nestled in a picturesque valley in the Andes Mountains. Jillian is currently a student in the Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling program, and Ellis is currently a Master of Divinity student. They love that they are able to continue pursuing high-quality, theological education while also being able to stay directly involved in foreign missionary work.

“Our education continues to provide crucial, biblical insight to our thinking, helping us in the challenges of missionary ministry.”

“CBTS has sharpened our skills in biblical studies and also caused us to think more critically on issues confronting the church today. Most of all, I am thankful to the Lord that through CBTS, I can properly and rightly divide the Word to feed the flock.”

Sue Nicewander Delaney

 Biblical Counselor, Calvary Baptist Church
Wisconsin Rapids, WI

My Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling degree from Central Seminary opened lots of ministry doors, including the creation of a collaborative biblical counseling ministry with five Central Wisconsin churches. Most of our work was done locally, but through outreach we were able to write, teach, counsel, and consult for about 60 local churches, working with hundreds of counselees. We served as a training center for the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) until the Lord led me to retire in 2018. Today I continue to speak and to write about biblical counseling for the Biblical Counseling Coalition and Shepherd Press, as well as to serve as a biblical counseling trainer and mentor at Calvary Baptist Church in Wisconsin Rapids. I also serve on the organizing committee for the Women’s Biblical Counseling Roundtable of Wisconsin (WBCR) to support Wisconsin’s female biblical counselors.

The Central faculty, now with Dr. Nicolas Ellen, continues to offer their highly respected M.A.B.C. degree which includes training in the practical art of biblical counseling, as well as theology and hermeneutics that are essential to giving wise counsel.

We all counsel every time we offer an opinion, answer a question, or lead someone by word or example. So the question becomes: is our counsel biblical? As Ephesians 4 exhorts, every believer is to think and live in union with Christ and to be equipped for the work of ministry. Central Seminary can be an important part of that equipping, as it was for me. Not just for formal ministry, but in everyday life where we all exist.

“Central Seminary provided me with a sound foundation for fruitful ministry. Not only did I learn to handle the Word of God more accurately, but I have enjoyed enduring relationships and faithful examples in service.”
